The Artist

Sheree's paintings developed from a lifelong fascination with color, nature, and how light affects them both.  Her earliest memories of a new box of Crayola crayons and the children's workshops that her mother took her to on university campuses sparked this fascination into reality.  After her marriage to a farmer and rancher, she was thrust into nature all around her which she began to capture on canvas.

The creations of God intrigued her to paint the light that illuminates the leaves of an old oak tree, the sparkle on the water of a calm morning river, and the hues of orchid, peach and yellow reflections on the majestic clouds of a Texas sunset.  From her very realistic brush paintings to her more impressionistic palette knife paintings,  viewers are drawn into the art of nature in hopes they will linger a while, and bring them a sense of peace away from this chaotic world. In her new endeavers in Still Life paintings, Sheree brings a uniqueness of subjects in a sophisticated look, yet still in keeping with the Chiaroscuro technique.  A third and important aspect of her body of works is her inspirational paintings. Sheree has touched many lives through her speaking engagements to civic clubs, women's groups, and churches where she tells her stories behind these inspirational pieces of art.

Sheree is a member of the Oil Painters of America. She and her husband live on a farm and ranch in west Texas.  They have two grown daughters that Sheree says are her best critics.  Her two favorite painting partners are her granddaughter and grandson.  Be sure to check out her children's book on the web site inspired by her grandchildren.
